William Perkin CofE High School achieved its first ever exam based A-level results today and was delighted at the numbers of students achieving A* grades and securing their top-end university places.  William Perkin bucked the national trend which has seen a dip in top-end outcomes. Outcomes were particularly strong in Further Maths where 100% of the 11 students taking the subject gained A or A* and the largest numbers of top grades were in the school specialisms of  Maths and Sciences.

Overall at the school 31% of exams were graded A*/A, 58% were A*B and 81% A*C.

27 students gained at least 1 A* grade and 6 top scoring students were in an impressive position of gaining A* in all 3, or in some cases 4, of their subjects.

Top students at William Perkin secured 5 Oxbridge places in subjects ranging from Maths and Medicine to Modern Foreign Languages and History. This was a huge achievement in a year where the competition for places has inevitably been stronger.
