This is what we found out on Tuesday 7 October, which saw the launch of the Elite Scientist Project for 2025-26.
The project will be run by Krisztina Losonci, who has worked with Brunel University, as well as other academic institutions on Synaesthesia. Currently Krisztina works for Nine Lyrae, and worked with the Elite Scientists last year on a Project on Synaesthesia with Valeria Perboni as well. You can read more about it on this Science Blog.
This year Krisztina gave a a very informative talk on blood pressure and Mirror Neurone function, which then nicely introduced the project this year, which will be :"Investigating the effect of emotive videos ( sad, happy and neutral) on the blood pressure of Years 7-9 Students ". The students will be using wrist blood pressure monitors, recording their blood pressure before during and after watching a video that will be either sad or happy or neutral.

There seemed to be enthusiasm from the students about the project in general, so hopefully there will be lots of applications, which will be good news.
It's all very exciting! Can't wait for it to all begin!

Thanks to all the staff who supported the event, and thanks to Mr Lloyd for the technical help.
Thank you also to Krisztina Losinci for their time and expertise. We all look forward to working with her this year! You can follow the project here.
