William Perkin CofE High school has exceeded national standards once again with its 2025 A-Level results. Whilst the percentage of top grades across the country fell to pre-covid levels, at William Perkin they continued to improve.

32% of students achieved top A & A* grades in a school where the majority subjects continue to be Science and Maths. This year 23 students achieved the significant feat of all A/A* grades across all 3 or 4 subjects, the majority of whom were studying a combination of STEM subjects (Science / Maths/ Computing).

Top scorers amongst these were Thomas Kettle, Emma Tudosa-Merauti, Darcey Sear, Shreerangan Manoharan, all of whom achieved either 3 or 4 A* grades. We are delighted that Liam Murphy, Emma Tudosa-Merauti and Isma’eel Rouf will all be heading off to Oxbridge to study History & Economics, Chemistry and Economics respectively.

Once again William Perkin also achieved outstanding success in progression onto competitive courses such as Medicine and Dentistry. Star students going on to become medics or dentists include Shreerangan Manoharan (dentistry at King’s College London), Tabarek Hussain (dentistry at King’s College London), Nayle Mir (medicine at Anglia Ruskin University), Zubaida Joudalla (medicine at Queen Mary’s University of London) and Judy Ali (medicine at the University of East Anglia).

Headteacher Amy Newman commented: ‘William Perkin’s 6th form has continued to support students to have the highest aspirations and push themselves to achieve their very best. I am very proud of the continued improvement and look forward to welcoming our new Year 12 students in the coming days’.
